Whimsical house

Tea pot
choice project
Tea pot
For my whimsicle house I first made a castle, but after my first project dissapeared I made A brick house out of about 70 bricks I made from a slab. Then I scored and slipped each brick to make the tower.
For the interesting feet project I did them on my practice platter for the final, I did 4 small feet with my initials engraved in the bottum of each foot.
For my teapot project I made a cylindrical tea pot with a lid handle and spout. I made this from rolling up a slab, if I were to do this again I would make the spout more curved to encourage water flow
For my organic shape I decided to take inspiration from nature and make an alligator head.
UNIT 6

final
For my final platter I began with a slabe and cut and folded the sides up. Then I cut to slab to make and place the dividers. I usedcrystal glaze to look like coral to go with my Ocean theme.

Final Project
For my final project I did a Georgia O'Keeffe painting Rams head Hollyhock.
https://www.brooklynmuseum.org
This website was very helpful with finding the history and meaning behind this piece. This painting was done in 1935 by Georgia O'Keeffe in New Mexico where she lived for many years and where she died. it is made to represent a tragic famine scene, and is described as being sad. White Hollyhocks represent innocence. Georgia studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York. This is where she learned her unique techniques that are shown in her paintings. It was difficult to replicate this piece in 3d form but I am happy with how it turned out. I mainly used a needle tool to make the cavity in the nose and the eye socket once I got the desired shape for the skull itself. The horns were difficult to make proportional but I like the way they turned out. If I were to do it again I would try different glazes to get a better result.
